The EtherRock collection is one of the first NFT projects on the Ethereum blockchain, launched on December 25, 2017. The project included only 100 NFTs that look like stones. Each stone has the same shape, but different colors and IDs, making each NFT unique. All 100 EtherRocks have been sold to date, meaning the entire collection is now in the hands of collectors. Their prices have increased significantly over time; the first sale was about 0.099 ETH, roughly $300 at the time, and later some stones sold for over 30, 40, and even 78 ETH, equivalent to hundreds of thousands of dollars. One stone even sold for about 400 ETH, over $1.3 million. These NFTs have no technical or gaming function; they are simply static images of stones, and their value comes from rarity and the early NFT history. This rarity and historical background make each stone a status symbol and historic collectible in the NFT world, with some selling for millions of dollars.
