Ni Haixia (1954-2012) was a famous Chinese medicine physician and educator who grew up in Taiwan and graduated from the Department of Political Science at Soochow University. His interest in Chinese medicine began when he successfully cured his sister’s gynecological disease. He then studied under Zhou Zuoyu and Xu Jimin, laying a solid foundation in Chinese medicine.

Career and Contributions
In 1995, at the age of 41, Ni Haixia founded the Han Tang College of Chinese Medicine. He practiced medicine in the United States for more than 20 years, and was particularly good at using classic prescriptions to treat difficult diseases such as leukemia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), uremia and lung cancer. He was praised by many patients as “the last hope”.

He was not only a clinician, but also an outstanding educator. He opened a Renji class to teach acupuncture and Chinese medicine classics such as “Huangdi Neijing”, “Shennong Bencaojing”, “Shanghan Lun” and “Jingui Yaolue”. In addition, he wrote many books and produced teaching DVDs to systematically share his professional knowledge and clinical experience.

Legacy and Influence
Ni Haixia died in Taipei on January 31, 2012 at the age of 58. His death did not interrupt his influence, and his students and followers continued to pass on his wisdom and clinical experience through regular forums, such as the 3rd Han and Tang Classical Chinese Medicine Forum in 2019. His teaching and practice had a profound impact on the dissemination and application of traditional Chinese medicine, especially in promoting the culture of classical Chinese medicine.
