Then, at NFT.NYC 2026, we finally met for the first time—and ended up standing together on a stage in New York City talking about the failed NFT project that brought us together in the first place.
That’s the part of the NFT story people forget.
We watched projects fail. We watched NFT prices collapse. We watched communities disappear. We even experienced being burned along the way.
But something survived.
The relationships.
The real value of that failed project wasn’t the Ethereum or Polygon attached to an NFT. It was meeting people we never would have met otherwise—and building something together long after the original project was gone.
Five years later, those relationships helped lead us to Alpha Origins, to NYC, and to speaking at NFT.NYC on a stage that has hosted some of the biggest names in Web3.
For Reptar and JC3, this was also the first time meeting face-to-face after working together for five years.
That’s insane to think about.
Most NFT projects may have disappeared, but many of the people who survived that era are still here—building, creating, networking, and figuring out what Web3 becomes next.
Sometimes the NFT goes to zero.
