Has the Pokémon card market peaked? I don’t think we’re even close—and the NFT boom helps explain my perspective.
Today’s six- and seven-figure Pokémon sales look enormous. But how do they compare with the trading volume and expensive purchases we saw during the NFT boom?
I compare the numbers and explain why buyers coming from other collectibles markets might view Pokémon prices very differently.
These markets aren’t identical, and past NFT trading doesn’t guarantee future Pokémon growth. But Pokémon’s own history may be too narrow a reference point for what collectors could spend next.
